In late March, 2004, Monty was asked to co-author a making-of-the-movie book with James Redfield for his metaphysical best-selling novel
The Celestine
Prophecy. The movie
was shot in St. Augustine and Ocala, Florida, and Monty was on the location sets with James and Salle Redfield, co-screenplay writer and producer Barnet Bain, producers Terry Collis and Beverly Camhe, director Armand Mastroianni, and the cast and crew for the principal filming.
The Celestine Prophecy: The Making of the Movie was published in October 2005 with the major release film scheduled to follow in the spring of 2006. The large format hardback movie book with Monty’s narrative and interviews contains over 160 color photos, production artwork, and frames from the film that he also edited.

Monty’s second making-of-the-movie book was released in September 2006 to coincide with the October release and the national promotion tour of the feature film
Conversations with
God
Monty spent six weeks on location to research the book, interview the cast and crew, and to direct the still photography. Monty then persuaded long time friend
Neale Donald Walsch
to add his personal commentary to the book in a dimension unprecedented in moviemaking literature.

Conversations with God, the movie, is the dramatic story of Neale Donald Walsch’s passage from being poor and homeless to becoming the messenger of spiritual truths that have impacted the globe.
Book One of the
Conversations with God series stayed on the
New York Times Bestseller list for more than two and a half years and has been translated into 36 languages, with more than 7 million copies sold.
A decade after the appearance of Book One, Conversations with
God, the movie, began shooting November 7, 2005, in Ashland, Oregon, where the actual events of Neale’s transformation occurred. Finally, the full back story of Neale’s struggle is revealed in a feature-length film produced and directed by Stephen Simon, who is responsible for such spiritual cinema classics as
Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Come and for the launch of the modern day spiritual cinema movement.
Conversations with God: The Making of the Movie provides a unique and exclusive insight into the process and personalities involved in the spiritually relevant film genre that has become known as spiritual cinema. The narrative text connects the film’s storyline to the remarkable synchronistic events that linked all cast and crewmembers. Illusions
The
Making of the Movie

Monty has also agreed with Robert Friedman to do a third making-of-the-movie book for
Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, a best seller in 1977 by author Richard Bach, the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. This film is still in development, but Monty hopes to report to the set of this film in 2006.

Journal
The
Movie |
| The War Journal of Major Damon “Rocky” Gause, published in 1999, is the firsthand account of one of the greatest escapes of World War II. Monty was introduced to the book by producer Terry Collis
(The Celestine Prophecy), and subsequently Monty adapted the book into a screenplay. The War Journal project is now being promoted to major studios. Principal photography would probably be in Thailand to simulate Bataan, Corregidor, and the islands encountered in Rocky’s miraculous 3200-mile voyage through enemy lines from the Philippines to Australia.

Screenwriter Paul Brody has adapted Monty’s unpublished novel
Pass In
Review. Monty has approved the screenplay of this epic character drama involving six combat infantrymen from six separate U.S. wars, and it is now being offered to producers.

| This is Pat’s favorite of her husband’s eighteen novels. It has a dynamic female lead, and it takes place in a futuristic New Orleans, Pat’s hometown. At Pat’s insistence, Monty wrote a screenplay adaptation of this
unpublished novel.
Pat thinks that this character driven action-romance is worthy of a Steven Spielberg production. But how do you get a property like this from a relatively unknown author to Spielberg? Well, that’s the essence of the movie business, isn’t it? |

The
Summit
The
Movie or TV Series |
In 2005 Monty wrote a long concept treatment for a movie or TV series. He wrote the concept as a project that might interest screenwriter Hank Stone in a collaboration. Monty and Pat had met Hank on the set of
The Celestine Prophecy, and the two men had immediately identified each other as kindred souls who wanted to write feature films that mattered in the context of humanistic (or spiritual) growth.
The Summit, where international characters are trapped in an alien environment and forced to discover ways to end hatred and prejudice, is something both writers want to pursue. The only problem, given their schedules, is when.
